Enrolment is easyYou don't need to be an expert on children to volunteer. You just need to be at least 12 years old, very responsible and willing to work a minimum of 4 hours a week. This is a great place for teens to develop a "work history" before they are of age to be employed! The Museum provides training, materials and ongoing support to make your volunteer experience a memorable one. Contact the Children's Museum at (918) 282-0314 for more information or to schedule an interview.
Visitors volunteer at the Children's Museum for a variety of reasons. Some are looking for a fun experience during their school break, many are looking for a work-style experience; others may need to fullfil volunteer hours in order to graduate from high school. Whatever the reason for volunteering, all discover something about themselves and how to interact with families from different cultural backgrounds. For most youth this will be their first experience working with the public, in which they have a say in what happens. Many of them also make new friends along the way. We asked some of our youth volunteers to share their impressions of their volunteer experience. What kinds of things can you do as a volunteer at the KCM? Youth volunteers assist with activities and games in our permanent exhibitions! How old do you have to be to become a member of the KCM Youth Volunteer Program? If you are 12 or over, you can become a member of one of the most fun and rewarding volunteer programs in Tulsa! Come meet new friends! Call 918-282-0314 for more details or to register. |
